Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 3, police performed 16 security checks, 24 citizen assists, 10 assists of other agencies, 19 vehicle registrations, nine follow-ups to incidents and one mental health transport; responded to 36 calls for service, six EMS calls, seven 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and two fire calls; and made 12 traffic stops. No detox transports were reported.

On Sunday, Oct. 28:

●  A person causing a disturbance in the 1500 block of West 6th Avenue was reported for disorderly conduct at 5:20 a.m. The person was warned.

●  A resident in violation of the heavy truck parking ordinance was warned for the violation at 9:05 a.m. in the 300 block of 8th Street.

●  Vehicles parked off the heavy truck route were reported at 11:26 a.m. in the 2500 block of 1st Center Avenue. Warnings were issued.

On Monday, Oct. 29:

●  People involved in a verbal altercation were reported at 8:16 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue. Warnings were issued.

On Tuesday, Oct. 30:

●  A Brodhead man, 40, was cited for disorderly conduct at 5:26 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 32, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large at 10:36 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

●  A Janesville man, 66, was cited for speeding at 2:53 p.m. in the 500 block of 23rd Street.

On Wednesday, Oct. 31:

●  A traffic crash involving a driver hitting a fence on private property was reported at 11:08 a.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street. Due to this incident occurring on private property, no citations were issued.

●  A dog at large was reported at 2:04 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 3rd Avenue. The owner was warned.

●  A person operating a motorized vehicle on city property was reported at 5:21 p.m. in the 300 block of 4th Street. A warning was issued.

On Thursday, Nov. 1:

●  A Monroe woman, 26, was cited for parking left of center at 7:32 a.m. in the 1600 block of East 5th Avenue.

●  Two people causing a disturbance in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue were reported at 10:10 a.m. They were warned.

●  A person disrupting patrons at a business was reported for trespassing at 10:18 a.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.

On Saturday, Nov. 3:

●  A theft was reported at 7:56 a.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 49, was cited for improper display of vehicle plates at 2:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  An Oak Creek man, 60, was cited for speeding at 3:06 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

●  A Brodhead man, 30, was cited for failure to secure load at 3:29 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

●  An Argyle woman, 36, was cited for speeding at 4:47 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

●  A Waterloo man, 29, was arrested for a probation violation at 5:22 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license, having open intoxicants in a vehicle and not having vehicle insurance.

●  Counterfeit currency being used at a business was reported at 6:17 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Danielle J. Zimmerman, 37, Monroe, was arrested on charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, battery, resisting an officer and two counts of disorderly conduct after officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of 18th Avenue at 3:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. During a physical confrontation with her estranged husband, her movements reportedly pushed their children out onto the street in front of traffic. She was jailed pending court.

●  Timothy J. Oxley, 58, Lena, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol content of more than 0.15 percent after officers responded at 11:31 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, to a report of a vehicle that had driven down a dead-end street and gotten stuck on railroad right-of-way property in the 1700 block of 8th Avenue. He was jailed.


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Monday, Oct. 29:

●  A cellphone found in Village Park was turned over to police at 10:26 a.m. The owner was later identified and the phone returned.

●  A lawn decoration found in the village was turned over to police at 2:44 p.m. The owner was later identified and the item returned.

●  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic hazard near New Glarus at 6:43 p.m.

●  Police assisted a citizen who had been locked out of the New Glarus Wasche Center at 10:57 p.m.

On Tuesday, Oct. 30:

●  Following a dog attack in the 300 block of 6th Avenue at 6:52 a.m., Rusty J. Kalscheur, 39, New Glarus, was cited for having an unlicensed dog, allowing an animal to run at large, a dog wounding a domestic animal and a dog assaulting a person.

●  Police were requested to check the welfare of three juveniles in the 300 block of Elmer Road at 8:29 a.m.

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 10:53 p.m. in the 10 block of 1st Street.

On Wednesday, Oct. 31:

●  A cat found in the 700 block of 3rd Street was reported at 10:41 a.m. The animal was taken to the Green County Humane Society.

●  Vandalism involving slashed tires on a vehicle was reported at 1:50 p.m. in the 400 block of 6th Avenue. Tires had been slashed on a vehicle.

●  Kayla M. Brick, 27, New Glarus, was cited for speeding and driving without vehicle insurance at 8:56 p.m. in the 1200 block of Wis. 69.

On Thursday, Nov. 1:

●  A rose-gold iPhone in a pink case was reported lost at 4:45 p.m.

●  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle vs. deer crash at 5:03 p.m. in the N8000 block of Wis. 69.

●  Police assisted a woman in the 800 block of 8th Street in catching her cat that had run out of its residence at 9:35 p.m. The cat was located and caught.

On Friday, Nov. 2:

●  A person without a valid driver’s license driving a vehicle in the village was reported at 9 a.m.

●  A possible suicidal subject was reported at 10:05 a.m. on 2nd Street. Police made contact with the person and they stated everything was fine. Northwest Connections was contacted per protocol, and the person was deemed to not be a threat to themselves.

●  Police received a request at 2:40 p.m. to check the welfare of a person in the 500 block of 14th Avenue. The person had not been returning calls. Police made contact with the person and they were fine.

●  A medical call was reported at 3:21 p.m. in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue.

●  Four juveniles going behind a building in the 900 block of Railroad Street and removing a cart or wagon were reported at 5:24 p.m. The complainant confronted the juveniles, and they said it was theirs. The complainant reported the incident to police afterward in case the cart/wagon was reported stolen. Police did not locate the juveniles.

●  Holly R. Tessmer, 35, Oregon, was cited for speeding, displaying an unauthorized registration decal, driving without vehicle insurance and possessing drug paraphernalia at 8:39 p.m. in the 200 block of 14th Avenue.

On Saturday, Nov. 3:

●  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic disturbance at 2:40 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street in Monticello.

●  A wallet found in the middle of the road in the 10 block of 11th Avenue was turned over to police at 10:40 a.m. It was later returned to its owner.

●  A fraud issue was reported at 5 p.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue.

●  Police investigated a 911 call from the area of the 200 block of 3rd Avenue at 9:15 p.m. No emergency was found.

●  Suspicious circumstances were reported at 11:56 p.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Street.

On Sunday, Nov. 4:

●  Police assisted Belleville police with a case by attempting to make contact with a subject in New Glarus at 1:17 a.m.

●  A medical call was reported at 10:25 a.m. in the 800 block of Haslen Drive.

●  A motor vehicle accident without injuries was reported at 11:04 a.m. in the 100 block of 6th Avenue. A Hyundai SUV had rolled down a hill, hit a fence, gone partially over a retaining wall and then struck a legally parked Toyota Camry.

●  An animal problem was reported at 3:40 p.m. in the 900 block of 2nd Street.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Eric C. Schmid, 24, Monticello, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after police responded for a domestic abuse case in the 100 block of North Main Street in Monticello at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. Bond was posted for Schmid, and he was released pending court. The New Glarus Police Department assisted with the case.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — On Wednesday, Oct. 24:

●  Cody A. Nielsen, 18, Darlington, was arrested on Lafayette County warrants following police contact in a parking lot on Ann Street at about 11:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. He was also cited for underage alcohol consumption, second offense.

●  A 16-year-old Darlington girl was cited for driving too fast for conditions at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, following a traffic complaint of reckless driving during trick-or-treating on Halloween.

●  A 15-year-old Darlington girl was cited for truancy at about 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, following a complaint from Darlington High School.

●  Calvin Reilly, 23, Blanchardville, was cited for speeding on Fayette Road at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.

●  Katheryn Lameyer, 18, Winnebago, Illinois, was cited for speeding on Wis. 23 at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Friday, Oct. 26:

●  Duane A. Lueck, 67, Gratiot, was cited for obstructing police and Trina L. Hiatt, 53, Shullsburg, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after deputies responded at 2:56 a.m. for a welfare check on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  Tori L. Crooks, 46, Mazomanie, was arrested in Dane County on a valid Lafayette County warrant and transported to the Lafayette County Jail at 10:16 a.m.

●  Debris on the roadway was reported at 2:27 p.m. on Copeland Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 3:09 p.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to assist Lafayette County Human Services with a welfare check at 3:42 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Jayden L. Rufenacht, 23, Gratiot, was cited for speeding at 5:49 p.m. on County D, Town of Wayne.

●  Michael P. Capriola, 19, Winnebago, Illinois, was cited for excessive acceleration of a vehicle at 11:06 p.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  Deputies responded for a welfare check at 11:41 p.m. on East Water Street in Shullsburg.

On Saturday, Oct. 27:

●  Collin F. Perry, 22, was cited for speeding and driving without vehicle insurance at 12:23 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 6:49 a.m. on South Park Street in Belmont.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:17 a.m. on County W, Town of Benton.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 12:02 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  An alarm was reported at 2:48 p.m. on County I, Town of New Diggings.

●  Nicholas B. Huftalin, 26, Rockford, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 5 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A theft was reported at 6:56 p.m. on South Broad Street in Argyle.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 10:01 p.m. on Stuart Road, Town of Wiota.

On Sunday, Oct. 28:

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 3:11 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 10:53 a.m. on County J, Town of Benton.

●  Stacey C. McGuire, 39, South Wayne, was arrested on a warrant at 8:45 p.m. and brought to the Lafayette County Jail.

●  Harassment was reported at 10:45 p.m. on East Main Street in Benton.

On Monday, Oct. 29:

●  An animal bite was reported at 11:33 a.m. on County F, Town of Fayette.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 11:54 a.m. on Dunbarton Road, Town of Gratiot.
