Brodhead Police
BRODHEAD — For the week of May 16 to May 22, police performed 40 security checks, 16 citizen assists, 12 assists of other agencies, 22 follow-ups to incidents, 15 vehicle registration and one traffic stop; responded to 35 calls for service and reported seven EMS calls, 11 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and one fire call. No detox or mental health transports were reported.
On May 16:
● A barking dog was reported at 12:03 a.m. in the 1200 block of East 6th Avenue. Citations for nuisance animal and failure to obtain dog license were issued.
● Disorderly conduct was reported at 2:32 a.m. in the 1200 block of East 6th Avenue. This remains under investigation.
● Suspicious activity was reported at 3:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue. Police found nothing suspicious.
● A dog at large was reported at 7:06 p.m. in the 900 block of 19th Street. The dog was returned.
● A Brodhead woman, 21, was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance at 11:02 p.m. in the 1800 block of 1st Center Avenue.
On May 17:
● A Brodhead woman, 16, was cited for truancy in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.
● An animal problem involving biting was reported at 2:54 p.m. in the 200 block of 11th Street. This was referred to Green County Public Health.
● A Brodhead man, 17, was cited for displaying unauthorized plate and failure to transfer title at 9:08 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 2nd Avenue.
On May 18:
● Three separate truancy cases were reported at 9:25 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. Warnings were issued.
● A traffic crash involving a vehicle in parking lot hitting another vehicle was reported at 3:33 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.
● Harassment was reported at 3:48 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. A warning was issued.
● Disorderly conduct was reported at 5:46 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. This was referred to Green County Juvenile Intake.
On May 19:
● Trespassing was reported at 8:44 p.m. in the 100 block of 7th Street. A warning was issued.
● A code violation was reported at 10:19 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 6th Avenue. A warning was issued.
● A Janesville woman, 31, was arrested and cited for operating while intoxicated, operating with prohibited blood alcohol concentration and possession of open intoxicants in vehicle at 10:02 p.m. May 20 in the 100 block of 6th Street.
On May 22:
● A gas drive-off was reported at 11:38 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Driver returned to pay for fuel.
● Suspicious activity involving a missing plate from vehicle was reported at 11:52 a.m. in the 1300 block of East 3rd Avenue. Subject was given instructions for obtaining a replacement plate.
Monticello Police
MONTICELLO — On May 14:
● Officers responded to check welfare at 4:43 p.m. in the 100 block of South Main Street.
● Officers, Green County EMS and Monticello Fire First Response responded at 5:39 p.m. within the village.
● Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a two-vehicle crash involving a deer at 9:46 p.m. on County C and Nye Road.
● A 911 hang-up was reported at 11:51 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street.
On May 15:
● A suspicious person was reported at 2:13 a.m. in the 100 block of West Coates Avenue.
● A 911 misdial was reported at 9:37 p.m. in the 300 block of South Main Street.
On May 16:
● Vandalism to a vehicle was reported at 11:38 a.m. in the 100 block of South Pierce Street. This remains under investigation.
● Illegal burning was reported at 5:40 p.m. in the 400 block of East Coates Avenue. This is being monitored.
● Police, Monticello Fire First Response and Green County EMS responded at 6:02 p.m. in the village.
On May 17:
● An abandoned vehicle was reported at 8:12 a.m. on North Pratt Road and East Coates Avenue. The vehicle was moved.
● Suspicious activity was reported at 6:13 p.m. in the 100 block of South Main Street.
● A 911 hang-up was reported at 9:49 p.m. in the 100 block of West Wisconsin Avenue. Everything was found to be okay.
● Police assisted Stephenson County Sheriff’s Department at 9:35 a.m. May 18 in Stephenson County.
On May 19:
● Police responded for a vehicle unlock at 12:37 p.m. in the 500 block of East Coates Avenue and at 3:29 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69.
● Police assisted Brodhead Police Department at 10:01 p.m. in the 500 block of North Monroe Street with an incident that happened in Brodhead.
On May 20:
● A possible sexual assault was reported at 8:36 a.m. at an undisclosed location. This remains under investigation.
● Green County District Attorney’s Office reported possible faud at 11:10 a.m. in the village.
On May 21:
● Police, Monticello Fire First Response and Green County EMS responded at 7:10 a.m. to the village.
● Police responded for a vehicle unlock at 10:32 a.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street.
● Collin L. Brewer, Albany, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 7:17 p.m. on Jefferson Street and East Highland Avenue.
Monroe Police
MONROE — Rebekah A. Bak, 25, Monticello, was arrested on four counts of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping at 12:26 a.m. May 17 at a business in the 700 block of 8th Avenue after she was observed violating bail conditions from prior cases. She was jailed.
Austin D. Flood, 25, Monroe, was arrested for a probation violation at 2:18 p.m. May 20 in the 600 block of 8th Avenue as a result of a welfare check. He was jailed.
● David A. Scofield, 32, Brodhead, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating with a restricted controlled substance at 5:59 a.m. May 22 in the 2900 block of 13th Street. He was also cited for driving while suspended, possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. He was released.
