Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of March 6 to March 12, police performed 23 security checks, 15 citizen assists, five assists of other agencies, 15 follow-ups to incidents, 11 vehicle registration and 15 traffic stops; responded to 29 calls for service and reported six EMS calls, 13 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and three fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On March 6: 

●  Hay bales on the roadway was reported at 10:44 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street. Police stood by as bales were removed. 

●  A dog at large was reported at 1:57 p.m. in the 500 block of 5th Street. A verbal warning was issued. 

●  A Bensenville, Illinois woman, 29, was cited for speeding at 8:25 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. 

●  A suspicious sound was reported at 11:39 p.m. March 7 in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. Police were unable to locate the source of the sound. Everything was found to be okay. 

On March 8: 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 6:46 p.m. in the 200 block of 12th Street. A warning for harassment was issued. 

●  A Brodhead woman, 36, was cited for unauthorized display of plates and driving while suspended at 11:12 p.m. in the 100 block of 23rd Street. 

On March 9: 

●  A counterfeit bill was reported at 3:54 p.m. in the 800 block of East Exchange Street.  

●  Suspicious activity involving a vehicle driving around with water guns or paintball guns was reported at 5:10 p.m. in the 500 block of 6th Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle or any damage. 

●  A Chicago man, 42, was cited for speeding, operating motor vehicle with suspended plates and no vehicle insurance at 7:33 p.m. March 10 in the 700 block of 1st Street. 

●  A 62-year-old man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited alcohol content at 7:50 p.m. March 12 in the 1300 block of 17th Street. 

 

Monticello Police 

MONTICELLO — On March 5: 

●  Police assisted Albany Police Department at 1:49 a.m. in the 100 block of North Water Street in Albany. 

●  A metal object on the roadway was reported at 5:39 p.m. on Wis. 69 and Lake Avenue. 

On March 6: 

●  Harassment was reported at 12:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Garfield Street.  

●  Cows on the roadway was reported at 4:55 p.m. in the W2800 block of County EE. The Green County Sheriff’s Office was notified. 

On March 7: 

●  Theft involving diesel fuel being siphoned from construction equipment was reported at 10:37 a.m. in the 100 block of East Coates Avenue. Video surveillance is being obtained. Investigation is ongoing. 

●  An excessive amount of mud on the roadway was reported at 4:52 p.m. in the 300 block of West Coates Avenue. The mud was scraped off roadway by an excavating company.
