Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of June 2-8, police performed 61 security checks, 39 citizen assists, 10 assists of other agencies, 16 vehicle registrations and nine follow-ups to incidents; responded to 28 calls for service, seven EMS calls, one fire call and 10 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made five traffic stops. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Monday, June 3:

●  A West Bend man, 39, was cited for speeding at 5:19 a.m. in the 300 block of 1st Street.

●  A dog bite was reported at 7:01 p.m. in the 100 block of Cedar Avenue. The matter was referred to the Green County Health Department.

On Tuesday, June 4:

●  A Madison man, 30, was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license at 12:02 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.

●  Harassment was reported at 6:37 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Warnings were issued.

On Wednesday, June 5:

●  A scam phone call was reported at 5:56 p.m. in the 1500 block of 16th Street. The call recipient did not give out information.

On Thursday, June 6:

●  Heavy trucks parked off the truck route were reported at 6:49 a.m. in the 2300 block of East 3rd Avenue. All drivers were contacted and warnings issued.

●  An antenna taller than allowed by city ordinance was reported at 1:57 p.m. in the 600 block of East 8th Avenue.

On Friday, June 7:

●  A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 2:05 a.m. in the 1500 block of 16th Street. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 7:51 p.m. in the 800 block of East 7th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 8:04 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.

On Saturday, June 8:

●  A snapping turtle in the roadway was reported at 3:11 p.m. in the 600 block of East 6th Avenue. When the officer returned with equipment to remove the turtle, it was not located.

●  An Evansville woman, 51, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration at 11:56 p.m. in the 900 block of 21st Street.


Albany Police 

ALBANY — On Tuesday, June 4:

●  Randy D. Bronstad, 28, Albany, was cited for public nuisance involving health for having a sofa, an old pool that was falling apart and other discarded items in a residential yard.

●  Corbin G. Hamilton, 27, Albany, was cited for public nuisance involving health for having garbage in a residential yard.

●  Eric T. Tessin, 39, Albany, was cited for a junked or abandoned vehicle.

On Friday, June 7:

●  Philip D. Hoffman, Jr., 34, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license.

●  Kyle Krabbe, 21, Stoughton, was cited for speeding.

On Saturday, June 8:

●  Noah M. Pagel, 20, Albany, was cited for underage drinking.

●  Jacey K. Lyons, 20, Monroe, was cited for underage drinking.

On Sunday, June 9:

●  Vonda N. Jackson, 46, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license.

●  Justine E. Sprecher, 34, Madison, was cited for possession of THC.


Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — Matthew W. Schmid, 39, Albany, turned himself in at the Green County Sheriff’s Office at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections arrest warrant. He was jailed.

●  Colin J. Pehl, 24, Brodhead, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the W2600 block of Wis. 11, Town of Jefferson, at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, June 8. He was also cited for operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration greater than 0.15%. He was released pending court.

DARLINGTON — On Wednesday, May 29:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:49 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 10:47 p.m. on County G, Town of Fayette.

On Thursday, May 30:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:21 a.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 1:42 p.m. on Jackson Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A juvenile problem was reported at 1:47 p.m. on West High Street in South Wayne.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 1:55 p.m. on White Oak Cemetery Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Kyle K. Aves, 32, Poplar Grove, Illinois, was cited for non-registration of an automobile at 2:48 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 3:23 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 8:16 p.m. on County D, Town of Lamont.

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with an alarm at 8:49 p.m. on Clay Street in Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:50 p.m. on Wayne Center Road, Town of Wayne.

On Friday, May 31:

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 12:58 a.m. on South Henry Street in Shullsburg.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 1:07 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  Three teenagers were arrested after deputies responded at 3:14 a.m. to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County W, Town of Benton. The 2011 Volkswagen, owned by Melisa L. Merdanovic, 20, Maquoketa, Iowa, had sustained severe damage and was towed. An investigation led to the arrest of Caleb A. Warner, 17, Dubuque, Iowa, on a charge of resisting arrest and two counts of receiving stolen property. Two other juveniles were taken into custody and turned over to responsible parties, with charges against them referred to Juvenile Intake. Warner was booked at the jail, then released. Dubuque police and the sheriff’s offices of Dubuque County, Grant County and Jo Daviess County assisted.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:52 a.m. on Walnut Street, Town of Wiota.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 8:37 a.m. on East Center Street in South Wayne.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 11:26 a.m. on South Division Street in South Wayne. Argyle police assisted on scene.

●  Theft was reported at 3:16 p.m. on Faymont Road, Town of Darlington.

●  An animal bite was reported at 5:14 p.m. on East Main Street in Benton.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 5:22 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Theft was reported at 5:43 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  Timothy A. Heinze, 40, Benton, was arrested on a warrant out of Dubuque, Iowa after a deputy responded to assist Hazel Green police at 6:34 p.m. on Crawford Lane, Town of Benton. He was taken to the jail and later released on cash bond.

●  William C. Muchow, 65, East Dubuque, Illinois, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 10:28 p.m. on Buncombe Road, Town of Benton.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 11:04 p.m. on Spore Road, Town of Lamont.

●  Blake J. Hefel, 28, Hazel Green, was cited for speeding at 11:49 p.m. on County W, Town of New Diggings.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 4:32 p.m. on Railroad Avenue in Benton.

●  Paige P. Kerr, 24, Freeport, was cited for speeding at 9:05 p.m. on County W, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Mary A. Gentry, 47, Belmont, was arrested and jailed on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after deputies responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at 10:14 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont. The Wisconsin State Patrol and University of Wisconsin-Platteville Police Department assisted on scene.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 10:35 p.m. on Gun Club Road, Town of Darlington. Darlington police assisted on scene.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 11:31 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

On Sunday, June 2:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 12:36 a.m. on Stub Lane, Town of Darlington.

●  A noise complaint was reported at 3:22 a.m. on Maple Street in Blanchardville.

●  Elizabeth A. Triem, 65, Blanchardville, was cited for not wearing a seatbelt at 12:33 p.m. on Monroe Street in Argyle.

●  Theft was reported at 1:23 p.m. on South Van Buren Street in Benton.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 3:42 p.m. on County N, Town of Argyle.

●  Tyler L. Cox, 22, Shullsburg, was cited for speeding and driving without a valid motorcycle license at 4:15 p.m. on County W, Town of Shullsburg. He was also arrested on a charge of driving without a revoked license. He was booked at the jail and released.

●  Littering was reported at 5:15 p.m. on Sheldon Street, Town of Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 5:57 p.m. on Dump Road, Town of Benton.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 6:13 p.m. on County I, Town of Benton.

●  A deputy responded to keep the peace at 7:08 p.m. on West Main Street in Benton.

●  Sean P. Reid, 19, Wheaton, Illinois, was cited for speeding and an expired vehicle registration at 10:14 p.m. on County W, Town of Shullsburg.

On Monday, June 3:

●  Eli Y. Cherrey, 17, Shullsburg, was cited for speeding at 12:40 a.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 1:37 a.m. on East Main Street in Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to Grant County at 4:37 a.m. to pick up Craig L. Wilson, 37, Lancaster, on a warrant. Wilson was brought to the jail.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 10:43 a.m. on East Center Street in South Wayne.

●  An animal bite was reported at 11:43 a.m. on County O, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 2:27 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  An animal bite was reported at 2:44 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Theft was reported at 3:08 p.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.
