Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — On Nov. 20: 

● A vehicle with dome light on was reported at 2:11 a.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Street. Nothing suspicious was found. 

● A dog at large was reported at 11:53 a.m. in the 1600 block of East 9th Avenue. Officers were unable to locate dog. 

● Theft was reported at 5:47 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. This remains under investigation. 

For the week of Nov. 21 to Nov. 27, police performed 45 security checks, 26 citizen assists, six assists of other agencies, six follow-ups to incidents, eight vehicle registration and eight traffic stops; responded to 22 calls for service and reported nine EMS calls, six 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and two fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On Nov. 21: 

● A vehicle with severe front-end damage was reported at 9:14 a.m. in the 1000 block of 10th Street. Police attempted to contact owner. 

● A vehicle playing loud music was reported at 6:09 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police were unable to locate vehicle. 

● Suspicious activity was reported at 11:05 p.m. in the 2600 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police found nothing suspicious. 

On Nov. 22: 

● An animal problem was reported at 10:32 a.m. in the 700 block of McEwen Street. This remains under investigation. 

● Disorderly conduct was reported at 6:10 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. A warning was issued. 

● Disorderly conduct was reported at 10:42 a.m. Nov. 23 in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. The matter was resolved. 

● An animal problem was reported at 7:31 p.m. Nov. 25 in the 1600 block of East 5th Avenue. A warning was issued. 

● A domestic problem was reported at 6:56 p.m. Nov. 26 in the 300 block of 3rd Street. The matter was resolved. 

For the week of Nov. 28 to Dec. 4, police performed 35 security checks, 24 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 12 follow-ups to incidents, 15 vehicle registration and eight traffic stops; responded to 30 calls for service and reported nine EMS calls, four 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and six fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

● Suspicious activity involving someone climbing in a window was reported at 1:09 a.m. Nov. 28 in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue. It was found to be the homeowner. 

● An Evansville man, 54, was cited for driving after suspension, displaying unauthorized registration, failure to transfer title and driving with suspended registration at 5:16 p.m. Nov. 29 in the 1500 block of East 9th Avenue. 

● A traffic crash was reported at 1:24 p.m. Nov. 30 in the 2000 block of 1st Center Avenue. No citations were issued. This was a non-reportable crash. 

On Dec. 1: 

● A juvenile on the roadway was reported at 11:57 a.m. in the 600 block of East 9th Avenue. The juvenile was returned to a parent. 

● A parking complaint was reported at 12:17 p.m. in the 800 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.  

On Dec. 2: 

● A Juda man, 37, was cited for non-registration of auto, displaying unauthorized registration, failure to transfer title and no proof of vehicle insurance at 9:03 p.m. in the 900 block of 5th Street. 

● A dog bite was reported at 4:42 p.m. in the 1500 block of West 5th Avenue. This matter was turned over to the Green County Health Department. 

● A Beloit man, 31, was cited for violation of the city’s 48-hour parking ordinance at 7:16 a.m. Dec. 3 in the 300 block of 4th Street. 

On Dec. 4: 

● Suspicious activity was reported at 5:56 a.m. in the 100 block of 10th Street. Officers found everything to be okay. 

● A hit-and-run to an unattended vehicle was reported at 4:25 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. This remains under investigation. 

● A traffic crash was reported at 4:51 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. No citations were issued. This was a non-reportable crash. 


Monroe Police

MONROE — Joey A. Leu, 57, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of bail jumping at 6:01 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 100 block of North 18th Avenue. He was jailed. 

On Nov. 21: 

● Troy S. Wedig, 59, Mukwonago, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 12:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street. He was also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration and failure to display vehicle license plate. He was released to a responsible party. 

● Riley R. Costa-Spohn, 25, Monroe, was arrested on a warrant at 11:38 p.m. at Super 8 Motel following a report he was sleeping inside breakfast area refusing to leave. He was also charged with bail jumping. He was jailed. 

● Deputies responded for a report of drug paraphernalia on an inmate at 1:44 a.m. Nov. 22 at the Green County Jail. Riley R. Costa-Spohn, 25, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed.

● Tyler L. Miller, 28, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 1:38 a.m. Nov. 27 on 17th Street and 13th Avenue. He was also cited for failure to stop at stop sign and possession of open intoxicants in vehicle. He was released to a responsible party.

On Nov. 30: 

● Jamie W. Shaw, 48, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence at 4:12 a.m. in the 600 block of 2nd Street. Shaw was also cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed and unsafe lane deviation. Shaw was jailed. 

● Demetrius L. Martin, 46, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, battery, intimidating a victim under Wisconsin’s domestic violence laws and resisting officers at 9:24 p.m. at a residence in the 1100 block of 30th Street. He was jailed.
