Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — Officers responded for a vehicle unlock at 7:56 p.m. Aug. 21 in the 100 block of North Pratt Road. 

●  A suspicious person was reported at 7:34 p.m. Aug. 23 on East Wisconsin Avenue and Sugar River State Trail. It was found the vehicle was out of gas. The officer provided assistance and fuel. 

On Aug. 24: 

●  Officers conducted traffic control for Green County Sheriff’s Office at 7:11 a.m. on Wis. 69 and County C. 

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 9:57 a.m. in the 100 block of South Garfield Street. 

On Aug. 25: 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 5:33 p.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. This remains under investigation. 

●  Officers responded at 7:46 p.m. for a medical emergency. Monticello Fire First Response and Green County EMS assisted. 

●  An illegally parked vehicle was reported at 8:34 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. It was found to be legally parked. 

●  A dog at large was reported at 9:12 p.m. on Greenview Avenue and Washington Street. The dog was not located. 

●  Officers responded for a residential burglar alarm at 11:54 p.m. Everything was found to be okay. 

On Aug. 26: 

●  A found cell phone was reported at 3:43 p.m. in the 400 block of Eisenhower Street. The phone was turned over to its owner. 

●  An animal complaint was reported at 9:22 p.m. in the 400 block of North Monroe Street. This is under investigation. 

●  Officers assisted Belleville Police Department at 11:32 p.m. in Belleville. 

●  Officers and Monticello Fire Department responded for a commercial fire alarm at 9:59 p.m. Aug. 27 in the 300 block of East Coates Avenue. No fire was found. Everything was found to be okay. 


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Aug. 15 to Aug. 21, police performed 72 security checks, 25 citizen assists, 10 assists of other agencies, 12 follow-ups to incidents, 18 vehicle registration and 11 traffic stops; responded to 42 calls for service and reported 12 EMS calls, 15 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and three fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On Aug. 15: 

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 12:16 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 4th Avenue. A verbal warning was issued. 

●  A domestic problem involving harassing messages was reported at 3:48 p.m. This remains under investigation. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 6:34 p.m. in the 600 block of East 3rd Avenue. Police found nothing suspicious. 

On Aug. 16: 

●  An Albany woman, 50, was cited for failure to stop at stop sign at 7:31 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. 

●  A Juda man, 30, was cited for displaying unauthorized registration plate at 9:08 p.m. in the 2500 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  Suspicious activity involving occupants in a parked vehicle on a dead-end street was reported at 10:57 p.m. in the 2500 block of East 3rd Avenue. The vehicle left the area. 

On Aug. 17: 

●  Burglary was reported at 6:35 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street. This remains under investigation. 

●  A violation of the city’s property maintenance ordinance was reported at 11:50 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. Homeowner is working on getting everything disposed. 

●  A weapons offense involving a subject carrying a rifle was reported at 2:30 p.m. in the N100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It was found to be an airsoft rifle. A warning was issued. 

On Aug. 19: 

●  A Watertown man, 52, was cited for speeding at 5:09 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street. 

●  Theft was reported at 9:01 a.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. This remains under investigation. 

●  A Brodhead man, 30, was cited for unsafe backing at 6:42 p.m. in the 1100 block of 7th Street. 

●  A dog at large was reported at 9:34 p.m. Aug. 20 in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Dog was returned. A verbal warning was issued. 

On Aug. 21: 

●  A code violation involving subjects in park after hours was reported at 12:39 a.m. in the N3800 block of Park Road. Verbal warnings were issued. 

●  A Belleville woman, 18, was cited for speeding at 2:04 a.m. in the 300 block of 1st Street. 

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 4:33 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 2nd Avenue. This remains under investigation. 

●  A Monroe woman, 31, was cited for operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited blood alcohol content at 8:56 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 2nd Avenue. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 5:42 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street. It was found to be a disabled vehicle and plans for removal had been made. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 10:49 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.


For the week of Aug. 22 to Aug. 28, police performed 79 security checks, 22 citizen assists, 11 assists of other agencies, 13 follow-ups to incidents, 13 vehicle registration and 30 traffic stops; responded to 38 calls for service and reported seven EMS calls, 15 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and two fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On Aug. 22: 

●  A traffic hazard involving a tipped over flower bin was reported at 2:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. Officers moved bin back to sidewalk. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 9:44 a.m. in the 100 block of Cedar Avenue. Officers checked area and found nothing suspicious. 

●  Disorderly conduct involving yelling was reported at 12 p.m. at a residential building in the 700 block of 17th Street. A verbal warning was issued. 

On Aug. 23: 

●  A Brodhead man, 28, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 2:07 a.m. in the 1500 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  A Brodhead woman, 21, was arrested on a probation and parole hold issued by Wisconsin Department of Corrections at 2:44 a.m. in the 1500 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  An Orfordville man, 32, was cited for an expired registration at 4:17 p.m. in the 100 block of East 4th Avenue. 

●  An animal problem involving a violation of the city’s fowl ordinance was reported at 4:25 p.m. in the 600 block of 16th Street. Subject was advised about the ordinance. 

●  Verbal disorderly conduct was reported at 5:04 p.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. A verbal warning was issued. 

On Aug. 26: 

●  A Brodhead woman, 74, was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance at 5:29 p.m. in the 1200 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  Theft was reported at 7:14 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. After investigation, found no crime was committed. 

On Aug. 27: 

●  A hit-and-run was reported at 4:08 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. The vehicle was not located. This remains under investigation. 

●  A Juda man, 39, was cited for failure to fasten seatbelt at 7:26 p.m. in the 700 block of 10th Street. 

●  A Janesville man, 70, was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance at 8:17 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  A Rockford, Illinois woman, 34, was cited for speeding at 8:55 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street. 

●  A Brodhead woman, 16, was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance at 9:17 p.m. in the 200 block of 1st Street. 

●  A barking dog was reported at 9:11 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. A warning was issued. 

●  A Clinton, Iowa man, 31, was cited for speeding at 9:42 p.m. in the 1700 block of East 9th Avenue. 

On Aug. 28: 

●  A hit-and-run was reported at 2:44 p.m. in the 700 block of 13th Street. The vehicle was not located. This remains under investigation. 

●  Suspicious activity involving an individual hanging around a business was reported at 5:19 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police did not find anything suspicious. 

●  Suspicious activity involving a vehicle on the side of the road was reported at 11:56 p.m. in the 1800 block of East 3rd Avenue. Police found nothing suspicious.
