DARLINGTON — Lester J. Velasquez-Durarte, 16, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at 10:22 p.m. Friday, April 3, following a traffic stop on Galena Street.
● Otilio Alvarez-Garmendia, 48, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license and a violation of child safety restraint laws (child under 4) at 4:53 p.m. Saturday, April 4, following a traffic stop on Wells Street.
● Florencio Tlehuactle, 28, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of operating while under the influence at about 1 a.m. Saturday, April 11, following an investigation into a suspicious vehicle at a local business. He was also cited for driving without a license and no vehicle insurance, then released to a responsible party.
Brodhead Police
BRODHEAD — For the week of April 5-11, police performed 40 security checks, 29 citizen assists, four assists of other agencies, six follow-ups to incidents, two vehicle registrations and one traffic stop; responded to 15 calls for service and reported two EMS calls and nine 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls. No fire calls and no mental health or detox transports were reported.
On Sunday, April 5:
● A code violation of people burning plastic was reported at 10:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 5th Avenue. Warnings were issued.
● No injuries were reported from a motor vehicle crash at 2:08 p.m. in the 800 block of 12th Street. It remained under investigation.
● Police responded at 5:09 p.m. to the 1300 block of West 2nd Avenue for a request to check the welfare of subjects yelling at each other. The matter was resolved.
On Monday, April 6:
● Two Brodhead residents, a 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, were warned for disorderly conduct at 10:19 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Center Avenue following an altercation.
On Wednesday, April 8:
● A suspicious car parked by a residence was reported at 3:26 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 4th Avenue. Police made contact with the owner, and the vehicle was removed.
● A Benton woman, 32, was cited no proof of vehicle insurance at 6:04 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.
On Thursday, April 9:
● Loud music playing was reported at 11:50 p.m. in the 700 block of East 8th Avenue. Police did not locate the violation.
On Friday, April 10:
● A gas drive-off was reported at 8:01 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Contact was made with the driver, and they returned and paid for the fuel.
● A golf cart being driven on the roadway was reported at 1:38 p.m. in the 700 block of 11th Street. Police did not locate the golf cart.
● A golf cart being driven on the roadway was reported at 4:39 p.m. in the 1600 bock of 1st Center Avenue. Police located the driver and issued a warning.
● Loud music was reported at 6:05 p.m. in the 1800 block of East 3rd Avenue. A citation was issued.
On Saturday, April 11:
● Police did a welfare check at 2:04 a.m. on a person in the 1200 block of West 4th Avenue. The person was returned home.
● A Brodhead girl, 17, was cited for possession of tobacco products at 9:53 a.m. in the 800 block of 1st Center Avenue.
● Theft of packages was reported at 1:05 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. It remained under investigation.
● A barking dog was reported at 2:03 p.m. in the 1200 block of 14th Street. The investigation continued, pending contact with the owner.

DARLINGTON — On Friday, March 27:
● A disabled vehicle was reported at 5:39 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.
● Deputies assisted Darlington police with a traffic complaint at 7:39 p.m. on East Lucy Street in Darlington.
On Saturday, March 28:
● A deputy and Shullsburg police responded at 2:04 a.m. to Wis. 11 in Shullsburg for a disabled vehicle.
● Illegal dumping was reported at 6:58 a.m. on Twin Bridge Road, Town of New Diggings.
● A 911 misdial was reported at 8:49 a.m. on Dammen Lane, Town of Argyle.
● A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 9:51 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. As a result, Octavio Valenzo Morales, 28, Postville, Iowa, was cited for improper registration of a vehicle, failure to file an accident report, no vehicle insurance, failure to keep a vehicle under control and operating a vehicle without consent. Leah M. Bean, 19, Postville, Iowa, was cited for failure of occupant to notify police of an accident and being a passenger in a vehicle being operating without consent.
● Livestock on the roadway was reported at 10:18 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.
● A disabled vehicle was reported at 12:26 a.m. on Landon Road, Town of Kendall.
● Domestic abuse was reported at 4:25 p.m. on Palfrey Road, Town of New Diggings.
● A deputy assisted Shullsburg police with locating a person associated with a suspicious activity complaint at 4:41 p.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.
● A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:33 p.m. on 1st Avenue in Benton.
On Sunday, March 29:
● A suspicious unoccupied vehicle parked at Belmont Mound Park was reported at 12:21 a.m. on County G, Town of Belmont. The driver came walking back, and the responding deputy interviewed the person and then released them. No enforcement action was taken.
● A suspicious vehicle parked at the public land parking lot just north of Yellowstone Lake was reported at 4:01 p.m. on Lake Road, Town of Fayette. A deputy checked on the vehicle and believed the owner was out walking/hiking.
● Suspicious activity involving three people smoking something in a vehicle parked at the Belmont Hotel was reported at 6:09 p.m. on West Mound View Avenue in Belmont. The vehicle was gone upon a deputy’s arrival.
On Monday, March 30:
● A commercial alarm was reported at 8:54 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. Darlington police assisted a deputy on scene.
● A deputy was dispatched after a caller at 9:36 a.m. reported seeing a teenager enter an abandoned house on South Warren Street in South Wayne.
