DARLINGTON — A 34-year-old Platteville man was bound over for trial on six Lafayette County charges.
Alvin Alejandro De Hoyos Jr. waived his preliminary hearing and stood mute April 11 on third-offense operating while intoxicated, third-offense operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, battery or threat to a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, for an incident Oct. 25.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for May 15. De Hoyos is free on $1,000 signature bond with the conditions that he not possess or consume alcoholic beverages or controlled substances without a prescription, enter a bar, drive without a valid driver’s license, agree to random drug testing, and that he not contact a Belmont police officer or his family except for “professional purposes.”
De Hoyos pleaded not guilty March 27 to Grant County charges of strangulation and suffocation, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer, misdemeanor battery, eight counts of felony bail jumping, and four counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, for an incident Feb. 22.
De Hoyos also pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping for an incident at a Platteville residence Jan. 29.
The trial on the Grant County charges is scheduled for June 6 or 13 with a status conference May 24.
De Hoyos’ signature bond was reduced from $2,500 to $1,000 with the conditions that he enroll in and be in residence at Operation Empower, a recovery service organization in Dubuque, and that he not possess alcohol or have contact with the victim’s family except through police.
Platteville police received a report of a fight in the commons area of a building Feb. 22 around 10 p.m.
De Hoyos also faces Grant County charges of third-offense operating while intoxicated, third-offense operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, and resisting or obstructing an officer, for an incident July 3.
De Hoyos pleaded not guilty to those charges Oct. 26. A plea/sentencing hearing is scheduled for this week.
