On Feb. 10:

● At approximately 7:34 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of Urban Road for a dog that was found running loose.  The dog’s owner was located and the dog was returned to its owner.  

● At approximately 8:35 a.m., Officers received a complaint of a dog at large in the 400 block of Summit Avenue.  Officers made contact at the residence.

● At approximately 8:47 a.m., Officers checked on a prior code violation complaint in the 200 block of E. Lake Avenue. As a result, Eric B. Carroll, 63, of Brodhead was issued a citation for failure to remove snow from a sidewalk.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.   

On Feb. 11:

● At approximately 1:00 p.m., Officers responded to the 400 block of S. Main Street for a code violation complaint.  It was reported that a sidewalk had not been cleared of snow.  Officers made contact with the homeowner.  Arrangements were made to have the sidewalk cleared.  

● At approximately 11:12 p.m., Officers received a harassment complaint in the 300 block of S. Monroe Street.  Contact was made will everyone involved to resolve the matter.  Charges will be filed if the harassment continues. 

On Feb. 12:

● At approximately 6:07 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of Greenview Avenue for a report of 2 dogs running at large.  The dog’s owner was located.  The dogs were returned to their owner.

On Feb. 13:

● At approximately 2:13 p.m., Officers took a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash to a unoccupied vehicle in the 100 block of W. Highland Avenue.  The incident remains under investigation.

● At approximately 3:20 p.m., Officers received a traffic complaint and a unknown location. After talking to the caller, the incident had occurred somewhere outside the village at a set of stop lights.  The caller was referred to another law enforcement agency to help identify the location of the incident. 

On Feb.14:

● At approximately 10:51 a.m., Officers conducted traffic control for Monticello First Response on N. Main Street at E. Coates Avenue.  First response was responding to an emergency medical call outside the village. 

● At approximately 1:58 p.m., Officers conducted traffic control for the Monticello Fire First Response on N. Main Street at E. Coates Avenue.  Fire first response were responding to a motor vehicle crash outside of the village. 

● At approximately 2:50 p.m., Officers were contacted in the 500 block of E. Lake Avenue.  This was in regards to health concerns on a citizen.  

On Feb. 15:

● At approximately 6:10 p.m., Officers were requested under mutual aid to respond to the N6200 block of CTH N.  This was to remove a deer that was reported as in the roadway.  While officers were responding, they were advised that they could cancel the response.  It was now reported that the deer ran away. 

On Feb. 16:

● At approximately 11:01 a.m., Officers received a parking complaint in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  Contact was made with the vehicle’s owner.  The matter was resolved a short time later. 

● At approximately 12:03 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of W. Coates Avenue for a report of a vehicle that slid into a light pole in a parking lot.  No injuries were reported.  A motor vehicle crash report was filed. 

● Starting at approximately 11:17 p.m., Officers had issued (2) parking citations for violation of the winter parking regulations. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On Feb. 17:

● At approximately 7:00 a.m., Officers received a parking complaint on several vehicles that were in violation of the winter parking regulations during the overnight hours.  Officers had located (4) vehicles at different locations in the village that had been “plowed in”. All (4) vehicles received parking citations for the winter parking regulations violation.

● At approximately 12:42 p.m., Officers received a report of a suspicious person walking in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  

● At approximately 2:03 p.m., Officers received a report of attempted fraud in the 300 block of E. Park Avenue.  It was reported that a citizen’s computer was “locked”.  The scammer wanted the citizen to call Microsoft who prompted them to go to Walmart to get a $500 apple card.  This is indeed a scam.  The citizen contacted the police department and did not take action as requested by the scammer. 

On Feb. 20:

● At approximately 9:49 a.m., Officers received information of possible underage drinking in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  The information received will be monitored. 

● At approximately 1:25 p.m., Officers were contacted in reference to possible fraud by contractor.  While gathering information it was found that the incident occurred outside of the village limits of Monticello.  The caller was referred to the appropriate law enforcement agency. 

● At approximately 3:24 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a parking complaint.  The matter was resolved a short time later. 

● At approximately 4:25 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on E. Coates Avenue and N. Pratt Road.  As a result of the traffic stop, Logan W. Lochner, 26, of Lodi was cited for speeding in excess of the posted speed limit.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 8:35 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on E. Coates Avenue and N. Pratt Road.  As a result of the traffic stop, Juan Hernandez Vazquez, 30, of Freeport, Ill was cited for speeding in excess of the posted speed limit.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On Feb. 21:

● At approximately 2:35 p.m., Officers were contacted in reference to harassment taking place in the 300 block of S. Main Street.  Follow up and further investigation will take place at a later time. The incident remains under review. 

● At approximately 4:39 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on E. Coates Avenue and N. Pratt Road.  As a result of the traffic stop, Brenda M. Neis, 44,  of Oregon, WI was cited for speeding in excess of the posted speed limit.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

● At approximately 6:09 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on N. Main Street and W. Coates Avenue.  As a result of the traffic stop, Scott A. Schenk, 46, of Monticello was cited for failure/improper stop at a stop sign.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 6:44 p.m., Officers conducted security at the Monticello Public Schools for the girl’s high school regional basketball game.
