On July 20:

● At 3:22 a.m., officers arrested Ariel R. Gruenberg, 19, of Browntown, following a traffic offense stop in the 600 block of 11th Street. Gruenberg was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-1st offense, and also cited for operating a motor vehicle without headlights, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle-driver, operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, underage possession/consumption of alcohol, and underage person transporting alcohol. Gruenberg was released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.

● At 1:50 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries in the 900 block of 13th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Joyce K. Stauffer, 89, of Browntown, turned south on to 13th Avenue from 9th Street, veered into the northbound lane of 13th Avenue, and collided with a northbound vehicle operated by a 54-year-old New Glarus man. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Stauffer was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed, and for failure to maintain control of the vehicle. Stauffer was released pending a court appearance. 

On July 23:

● At 9:39 a.m., officers were called to a traffic accident with no reported injuries, in a business parking lot in the 2700 block of 6th Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Charles F. LaGrange, 71, of Browntown, backed out of a parking stall and collided with a parked unoccupied vehicle. The vehicles sustained minor damages and no citations were issued.

● At 5:41 p.m., officers conducted a traffic offense stop in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. The stop resulted in the arrest of Joshua S. Ritchie, 35, of Freeport, IL on an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court. Ritchie was also cited for operating after revocation-due to alcohol conviction. Ritchie was able to post cash bail and was released pending a court appearance.
