TOWN OF BROOKLYN — A Janesville man was booked for a fourth offense drunk driving following a crash April 19.

At approximately 5:12 p.m., Green County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Albany Police Department, Evansville EMS and the Evansville Fire Department, responded to the N7300 block of Krause Road, Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a single vehicle crash with injury.

Scott W. Seemuth, 56 of Janesville, told authorities he was traveling west on Brooklyn-Albany Road when another vehicle pulled out in front of him, causing him to swerve, then cross through the intersection with Krause Road. His vehicle then went into the west ditch and down a wooded embankment before striking a tree head on.

There was no airbag deployment, as the airbag had already been deployed during a previous incident, and was instead just taped back into the steering wheel.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and Seemuth had non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported from the scene by EMS.

Further investigation resulted in Seemuth being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol — 4th Offense. He was also issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control of his Vehicle and Possess Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. Seemuth was issued a mandatory future court date and was held at the Green County Jail pending his initial court appearance.
