MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Common Council:
• Unanimously approved payment of claims in the amount of $381,564.40.
• Sent back to the Public Safety Committee a special event permit for Monroe Main Street Market on the Square for 2010. Committee Chairman Charles Koch said the permit contained changes that were not presented to the committee Monday.
• Granted electrical contractor licenses to Trinity Technologies (Peter M. Buchanan) and Northside Electric (Mark Blankanship).
• Met in a closed session to confer with City Attorney regarding city strategy in pending litigation (Edith Milestone vs. City of Monroe, Western District of Wisconsin.)
A resolution authorizing a Wastewater Treatment Utility Superintendent was postponed to April 7, pending further background checks on candidates.
The next Common Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, because of an election April 6.
