Cheese Days seeks logo entries

Deadline for submissions for 2016 logo is May 8

MONROE - Green County Cheese Days is currently seeking artists to submit design concepts for the 2016 button logo, which will serve as the official image for the festival.

Logos from previous festivals can be seen on the history page at www.cheesedays.com.

Wording on the design must include the official trademarked name "Green County Cheese Days," not just Cheese Days. The words "Monroe, WI," or Wisconsin spelled out can also be included. Designs must include the date of the event, "Sept. 16 through 18, 2016."

Digital designs should be in vector format. Designers may be asked to make minor modifications to their original submission, based on the recommendations of the Cheese Days Committee. Designs are due by May 8.

The appearance of the button logo will help to set the stage for various marketing efforts, and the design will also be used on a variety of merchandise including commemorative steins, keepsakes, and apparel.

Brain-storming words for design concepts include cheese, Swiss heritage, celebration, tradition, and Historic Green County Courthouse, as the festival has always been located on the grounds of the Courthouse in downtown Monroe.

There is no monetary compensation for the design, but the artist will be recognized via public relations and social media. The logo and artist will be introduced at the 2016 Cheese Days Kick-off to be held in November, and will be invited to ride in The Swiss Colony Cheese Days Parade on Sept. 18, 2016.
