Celebrating Our Past: Green County Historical Society
36703a.jpg
This weeks photo is taken from the cover of A Glimpse Back in Time, a book that contains 166 photographs made from glass negatives taken by Will E. Trukenbrod between 1910 and 1920 in Monroe. The photo shows a lady with a large hat walking west on the south side of the Square with her children, one of them in a wicker stroller. These photographs show how people in Monroe dressed during the era, how they spent their time, and their modes of transportation that included motorcycles, cars and horses. A copy of the locations where these photos were taken can be emailed to you if you contact Matt Figi at mfigi48@tds.net or 608-325-6503. The books are available at Schultz Pharmacy and Sequels Fine Interior Consignments. (Photo supplied by the Green County Historical Society)
