MONROE - The Monroe School District Administrative office notified Monroe Police of an apparent bomb threat at about 11:45 a.m. Friday.

The threat was a note left in the suggestion box at the Monroe Public Library. The district administrative offices are located on the building's third floor.

Superintendent Larry Brown said the note gave no specific time.

"So we did a scan and search, and found nothing," Brown said Monday.

District office and library personnel did the search, because they know best if something is out of place, Brown explained.

The Monroe Police were notified, and officers collected the note. Brown said suggestions in the box are collected about once per week, and there is no way of knowing when the threat was left.
