WASHINGTON - Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Madison, was among the 244 House Democrats to vote in favor of the $819 billion stimulus bill Wednesday. The bill passed 244-188, without any Republican votes with the majority, and now goes to the U.S. Senate.
Baldwin, in a news release Wednesday evening, said the plan not only bolsters the economy in the short and long terms, but "also contains unprecedented, built-in accountability measures-providing strong oversight, an historic degree of public transparency, and including no earmarks."
She said the bill will create or save more than 67,000 jobs in Wisconsin.
