MONROE - Brochures and applications are available for the 2012-13 Green County Leaders Program. The applications are due Wednesday, July 25.
The program is designed to prepare individuals to work together to establish an active, visionary, community leadership network and to create a collaborative environment with increased citizen participation and communities working together for the benefit of communities, community-based organizations and county.
An orientation will be held at the end of August and the program will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month from September through May. Program days are dedicated to both personal leadership development and community orientation, led by a variety of trainers, facilitators, and community leaders. Additionally, there are activities required outside of program days that provide outlets to use and refine skills, concepts, and tools introduced in sessions, and readings.
Brochures and applications for the program are available at the Green County Development Corporation, 1016 16th Ave., or the Green County UW-Extension office, 2841 6th St. Application forms are also available to download from the Green County Leaders website www.greencountyleaders.com. Enrollment is limited to about 20 students each year.
