MONROE --The Monroe Optimist Club's annual fishing outing for boys and girls ages 5 to 13 will be May 13 at Lake Montesian in Monticello.
Participants may meet at the lake or ride a bus leaving from the Monroe Public Library at 9 a.m. Permission slips must be signed and presented.
Lunch and raffle prizes for all the kids will be provided, but children must take their own fishing gear and bait.
The event ends at 1 p.m. Children who did not ride the bus must be picked up at the lake by 1 p.m. The bus will return to Monroe at that time.
