NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTION OF GREEN COUNTY FARMLAND PRESERVATION PLAN, 2024 UPDATE

Please take notice that a public hearing and consideration of adoption for Green County’s Farmland Preservation Plan will be held on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM during the Green County Land and Water Conservation Committee meeting located at the USDA Service Center, 1627 4th Ave W, Monroe WI. The proposed farmland preservation plan is an update to the Green County Farmland Preservation Plan adopted in 2012. The update includes an inclusion of farmland preservation maps of each township. Copies of the DRAFT Green County Farmland Preservation Plan, as well as draft farmland preservation maps, are available for review at the Green County Land and Water Conservation Department office, 1627 4th Ave W, Monroe WI. The plan is also available on the Green County Land and Water Conservation Department’s website at https://greencountylwcd.com/, as well as the Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission website at https://www.swwrpc.org/. The public is invited to speak on the proposed farmland preservation plan at the public hearing. Written comments may be submitted prior to, or at the public hearing. Any questions, written comments, or requests for a copy of the proposed update should be directed to Dan Hauck, assistant planner at the Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission at (608) 342-1637 or d.hauck@swwrpc.org. Written comments will be given the same weight as oral testimony and be part of the public record. Written comments need to be received by the end of the day on November 6th, 2024.
