The City of Monroe is accepting sealed bids for the development of a new pocket park which includes a public restroom facility, seating areas, small multipurpose open space with a pergola, pathways and ADA-complaint amenities. The park is located at 924 17th Avenue, Monroe, WI 53566. Bids are due by 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 17th to the City Clerk’s office in City Hall, 1110 18th Ave, Monroe, Wisconsin 53566. Todd from Pellitteri was introduced and he gave an overview of the services Pellitteri offers for trash and recycling. Two different fee billing methods were presented: 1. An additional $0.35 flat fee charged to each home to cover the fuel surcharge fee. 2. Continuing with the current method, which is a monthly surcharge fee that fluctuates with the price of fuel. There was a debate among council members regarding the preferred method for handling this fee. A motion was made by Kranig, seconded by Knoll, to Approve the resolution with a contract extension without the fuel surcharge being locked in.
