Resolution Approving City of Monroe July 4th Event Fireworks Permit No action taken. J. PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE 1. Resolution Approving Installation of "No Parking to Corner" Sign Alder Thoman questioned whether approving this request might lead to similar requests from others in the community, potentially setting a precedent or “opening a can of worms.” Chief Kelley addressed the recommendation, explaining the reasoning behind limiting parking to only one side of the street. The recommendation was presented to the committee as a safety issue. A motion was made by Sheaffer, seconded by Kleven, to approve the resolution. The motion passed 8-0, by the following vote: AYES: Richard Thoman, Lynne Kleven, Tom Miller, Heidi Treuthardt, Corinne Wartenweiler, Matt Sheaffer, Craig Franke, Dylan McGuire NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAINED: None 2. Alder Treuthardt thanked Olivia and GCDC for their efforts on the project and for keeping it moving forward. A motion was made by Treuthardt, seconded by Thoman, to approve the resolution.
