PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS OF THE MONROE MUNICIPAL WATER UTILITY

The Monroe Municipal Water Utility has filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to increase water rates. The increase is necessary due to a 12.33 percent increase in gross plant investment and a 31.52 percent increase in operating expenses since the last water rate case was completed in 2013. The total increase in water revenues requested is $323,588 which will result in an estimated overall rate increase of 18.30 percent over the water utility’s present revenues. If the request is granted, the water bill for an average residential customer with a ⅝-inch or ¾-inch meter who uses 1,300 cubic feet (or approximately 9,724 gallons) of water per quarter will increase from $55.91 to $66.07, or 18.17% (including the public fire protection charge).
