Interim Superintendent: Rich Deprez explained the process, terms, and distinction between the appointment of an Acting Superintendent and the approval of an Interim Superintendent and the recruitment for a regular Superintendent. The interview process for a regular Superintendent is reciprocal between candidates and the district. With the time constraints, failed referendum, and the High School projected to open in the Fall of 2026, it would set up the district to be in a better position to begin the search later rather than starting the process immediately. A motion was made by Jim Curran and seconded by Phil Vosberg to approve the Joe Monroe as the Interim Superintendent through the 2025-2026 school year as presented. Roll Call Vote: Nikki Austin/Y, Jim Curran/Y, Rich Deprez/Y, Eric Eckdhal/Y, Michael Froseth Jr./Y, Teresa Keehn/Y, Dylan McGuire/Y, Terri Montgomery/Y, Phil Vosberg/Y. Ron stated that there were state dollars to help implement Act 20, but the state has not released those funds, which is an example of "unfunded mandates." D. School District of Monroe Open Enrollment Recommendations for the 2025-2026 School Year: Joe explained that we are limited on space and we need to protect our programming to not overwhelm our staff and resources, which is why limits need to be in place. A motion was made by Terri Montgomery and seconded by Phil Vosberg to not limit regular education open enrollment spaces in any grade level for the 2025-2026 school year and to limit special education enrollment spaces for the 2025-2026 school year according to recommended case manager limits as proposed by Joe Monroe, Interim Superintendent and Director of Pupil Services.
