ADVERTISEMENT TO BID LEAD SERVICE LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT CITY OF MONROE, WI

The City of Monroe will accept sealed bids for the Lead Service Line Replacement Project until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the City of Monroe, City Hall, 1110 18th Avenue, Monroe, Wisconsin, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work under this contract shall consist of replacement of the existing lead water service lines on both the public and private side of the right-of-way. Public replacement will run from the water main to the curb stop and private replacements will run from the curb stop to the meter connection point. Completed Bidders Proof of Responsibility forms must be submitted at least five (5) calendar days prior to bid opening. Bidders Proof of Responsibility forms are required once per calendar year. Bidders not submitting said forms at least five (5) days prior to Bid opening may be considered non-responsive and their bids may not be read. Bidders should submit a base bid as a unit price per service as outlined in the bid documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, or bank draft, payable to the City of Monroe, or satisfactory bid bond, in the amount of 5% of the gross bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted as the successful bid, such successful bidder will execute and file the proper Contract and Performance Bond within the time limit specified by the City of Monroe. NO CASH OR PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. NOTE: SUBMITTAL OF A PERFORMANCE BOND IS REQUIRED. If the Successful Bidder fails to file an executed Contract and Performance Bond with the City, the Bid Bond will be executed, and its face value will be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. Applications for three (3) positions on the Blackhawk Technical College District Board are now being accepted. District Board members are not paid, except for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. In the appointment process, equal consideration is given to the general population distribution within the District and women and minorities. In addition, employer and employee representatives should represent the businesses and industries within the District. Notice of Pending Application for Proposed Wetland Individual Permit

Alliant Energy, 4902 N. Biltmore Lane, Madison, WI, 53718, has applied to the Department of Natural Resources for a wetland fill individual permit for the proposed Browntown Substation project. The project is located in SW 1/4, SW 1/4, Section 04, Township 01N, Range 06E in Village of Browntown, Green County. The project involves rebuilding the existing Browntown electrical substation due to age and condition of components and upgrading to sectionalize the existing 69kv feeder line. The project proposes approximately 11,100 square feet of permanent wetland fill for the footprint of the substation and an additional 7,690 square feet of temporary wetland impact primarily to facilitate the construction of the new substation. Wetland mitigation requirements would be satisfied through the purchase of wetland mitigation bank credit. The Department will review the proposal provided by the applicant and any information from public comments and the public informational hearing. The Department will determine whether the proposal complies with ss. 1.11, and 30.208, Stats., and ch. NR 150, Wis. Adm. Code, and ensure that the required mitigation meets the standards in s. 281.36(3r), Stats. if the project impacts wetlands. The Department has made a tentative determination that it will issue the permit for the proposed activity.
