NEW GLARUS — A woman that went missing from the Edelweiss Chalet and County Club outside of New Glarus Aug. 29 was found safe and reunited with family less than a day later. 

At approximately 1 p.m. Aug. 29, a 65-year-old Cottage Grove woman had left a group of family members at the New Glarus golf course and didn’t return. Local authorities searched north and south on the Sugar River and Badger State trails. The Wisconsin Department of Justice issued a Silver Alert for Green, Dane, Lafayette, Iowa and Rock Counties. 

In the morning hours of Aug. 30, she walked up to a residence in Exeter Township seeking help. She was reunited with her family at her request.
