MONROE - Wisconsin native, Leah Gilbert, who currently resides in Colorado, will be visiting libraries in Green County from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 11 at Monroe Public Library and from 10 to 11 a.m. May 12 at Brodhead Memorial Public Library.

Gilbert will read her debut picture book and talk about life as a children's book author, illustrator and greeting card designer. There will be a Q&A session at the book reading.

Gilbert's book, "A Couch for Llama," introduces readers to the Lago Family, who comes to realize their beloved couch is in need of replacement. As they drive home with their brand-new bright-red couch, it gets knocked off the top of their car into a field, where an intrigued llama discovers it. At first confused, the llama soon realizes how comfy the couch is and settles right in. Can the Lago family get its furniture back - and keep llama happy, too?

The book is Gilbert's first picture book and was published by Sterling Children's Books in February 2018.
