GRANTON — Wisconsin FFA Alumni and Supporters will be hosting their annual meeting and convention as a hybrid option this year on Feb. 13. Members will have an option to attend their annual meeting and convention either in person or virtually. The event is being hosted at the KI Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Green Bay, as well as online for those who register.
All of the event details and registration options are available at https://wisconsinaged.org/alumni/events/ and registration will remain open through Jan. 10. Highlights of the schedule include an opening session, section meetings, a luncheon, annual business meeting, award recognition, Wisconsin State FFA Officer reflections program, retiring President’s address, workshops and optional dinner. Those registering to attend virtually will be able to watch some of the events live-streamed and participate in the meetings and workshops online.
The challenges of COVID-19 have made planning the annual event difficult, but the Wisconsin FFA Alumni and Supporters are working closely with the hotel to set very specific protocols for disease prevention and those attending will be expected to follow all of the CDC and health department guidelines, including wearing masks and social distancing.
The usual fund-raising auctions will not be held at the convention this year, but the organization is holding an online auction through O’Brien Auctioneers Feb. 1-14. Information and links to the items will be available at the convention website link as items are finalized. The online auction will be the associations main fundraiser for the year. Support of the online auction is crucial to ensure that the state association can continue supporting chapters at the local level through grants, scholarships, and other leadership programs.
