WIOTA - The Wiota Firemen's Auxiliary held its annual Halloween party Oct. 31 at the Wiota Schoolhouse. The theme this year was the Wisconsin Badgers with a welcome sign that said "Witch-consin Boooooster Club."

The center of attention was a 10-foot tall Bucky Badger, with lots of "Wisconsin Spirits" (ghosts) surrounding him. Other decorations and signs: a Fish Pond with a sign that said "The Ghoul Center," a vampire in the corner holding a sign that said, "Vamp Randall," "When you say 'WIOTA' you've said it all!" and pictures of cows along the wall saying "Wisconsin is the 'Scary' state," with the cows saying boooo. There was also a pumpkin carved with a big "W" donated by the Bob and Nikki Cooper family. A "witch," with a Badger "witch's hat," was the emcee for the party. One hundred forty five people attended the party. Instead of giving the decorator, Laurene Winn, a bouquet of flowers, participants donate money to a food pantry, and this year it will go to the Argyle Food Pantry.
