Wiota Fourth of July events begin tomorrow

WIOTA - The Fourth of July events in Wiota were announced, starting with slow-pitch games starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Volleyball will be held throughout the weekend.

Wiota First Response will be sponsoring a 5K Color Fun Run/Walk on Friday at Wiota Park. Registration will be at 8 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6 through 12 and free for kids 5 and under. A concession stand will be available after the race and Long Hard Ride DJ will be performing before and after the race. Proceeds will go to the Wiota Fire Department to help purchase new equipment and training.

Home Talent Baseball against Platteville will start at 1 p.m. Friday in Wiota. Slow-pitch games resume at 5 p.m. Friday.

Slow-pitch games continue at 10 a.m. Saturday. Registration for the kiddie tractor pull is 10 a.m. Saturday with the pull starting at 11 a.m.

Church service in the park will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. A car show will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church parking lot. The parade will be held at noon. The variety/talent show is set for 6:30 p.m. Fireworks will be held at about 9:30 p.m.
