Water testing available in Lafayette County

DARLINGTON — The Lafayette County Health Department is now a Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Certified Water Testing Laboratory for bacteria. 

The Health Department provides well water testing kits from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

Water samples can be submitted from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The cost of testing at the Lafayette County Health Department is $30 for each: Bacteria (total coliform), nitrates, nitrites, lead and arsenic.

Drinking water bacteria sampling will be done at the Lafayette County Health Department. Other requested water sampling will be done at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Environmental Research and Innovation Center, uwosh.edu/eric/environmental-health-testing/water-testing/. 

Water samples can also be submitted to the Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene for testing.
