MONROE - Parag Tipnis, M.D., is the newest member of the Monroe Clinic cardiology team.
Tipnis received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. He completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago and in advance echocardiography at Northwestern University in Chicago. He also completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT. His medical experience includes appointments at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Middleton, University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
"Being a native of Rockford, Ill., and a resident of Wisconsin, it means so much for me to be caring for patients in this region," Tipnis said. "Outside of the office, my patients are my neighbors. Like them, I have a vested interest in the health and well being of this community, and I'll do all I can to ensure my patient's hearts are going strong for years to come."
Tipnis specializes in noninvasive cardiology, offering his expertise in the detection, evaluation and treatment of heart disease. He is especially skilled in echocardiology - a field that has offered tremendous advances in the diagnosis of heart disorders. Echocardiology uses ultrasound waves to build a picture of the heart's internal structure, thereby allowing a specialist to examine the heart without making a single incision.
In addition to his medical practice, Tipnis also has extensive teaching experience. He serves as an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin, and was a clinical instructor of medicine at Northwestern University.
Tipnis joins the Monroe Clinic cardiology team of Dr. Ahmad, cardiologist, and nurse practitioners Kathy Pulley and Kim Thome-Hough.
