Three receive MHF scholarships

DARLINGTON - The Memorial Healthcare Foundation Grants and Career Development Committee selected three recipients for their employee healthcare scholarships in 2013, for exemplifying educational and community requirements.

The following employees received various amounts totaling $1,325 in awards on July 16.

Dena Dammen, Argyle, has been a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County since 2010. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in May 2012. In January, she became MHLC's obstetric manager. Dammen and her husband, Jeremy and have two sons, Tre and Wesley. She will be using the money she received to attend a Childbirth Educator Certification Prep Course in Chicago in November.

Cassie Prine, Darlington, has been a registered nurse in medical surgery at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County since 2006. She is continuing her education to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing through Viterbo College. She and her husband, Blake and have one son, Porter.

Rhonda Roelli, Darlington, has been a registered nurse in the surgery department at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County since 2008. She is continuing her education online to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from University of Phoenix. She and her husband, John have two daughters, Marta and McKenna.

The Memorial Healthcare Foundation offers grant money to hospital employees for continuing education, meetings and classes that are not covered by Lafayette County. The Memorial Healthcare Foundation's mission is to support and promote Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County through the endowment of new and existing services, scholarships and capital improvements.
