MONROE - This summer, Monroe Parks and Recreation will be offering numerous tennis programs, including lessons, clinics, camps and leagues.

Tennis lessons are held Monday to Friday at the Recreation Park tennis courts for 1st graders to high schoolers, with sessions running July 5 to July 15 and July 18 to July 29.

Three different tennis clinics for boys and girls entering 8th through 12th grade (participants must have played in the tennis leagues) will be held June 13 to June 24 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Recreation Park tennis courts.

A tennis camp is offered for anyone entering 5th through 8th grade, meeting from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 1 to 4. A high school girls' camp for any girls in high school at the intermediate/advanced level meets 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 1 to 4. Boys' camp is for any boy entering 8th to 12th grade meets 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 25 to 28.

Tennis leagues are played at the Recreation Park tennis courts for girls entering 4th to 8th grade play on Mondays, June 13 to Aug. 1. Boys entering 4th to 8th grade play on Tuesdays, June 14 to Aug. 2. Girls entering 9th to 12th grade play on Wednesdays, June 15 to Aug. 3. Boys entering 9th to 12th grade play on Thursdays, June 16 to Aug. 4.

Those wishing to sign up for any of the programs can so by stopping down at the Parks and Recreation office, which is located in the lower level of City Hall.
