Team takes first at annual conference math meet

JUDA - Juda school district and math team announced the results of the fifth annual Six Rivers East Conference math meet held on March 21 at Juda High School. Albany, Argyle, Barneveld, Black Hawk, Monticello, Pecatonica also competed. About 175 students competed, attempting nearly 5,000 math problems.

The math meet was organized into two levels: freshmen and sophomores were Level I and junior and seniors were Level II.

Level II first team consisted of Brianna Knudtson, Juda; Jared Anderson, Albany; Tyler Davis, Juda; Luke Jordan, Juda; Matt Reckamp, Juda; Carmen Hale, Juda; Lillian Horn, Albany; and Merik Meythaler, Black Hawk.

Level II second team consisted of Tanisha Brandt, Argyle; Cora Demler, Pecatonica; Logan Stietz, Black Hawk; Matt Trotter, Juda; Faith Lent, Albany; Coty Knudtson, Juda; Morganne Goecks, Juda; and Dan Mahlkuch, Juda.

Level I first team consisted of Morgan Adkins, Juda; Logan Anderson, Albany; Justin Wiegel, Black Hawk; Hannah Saalsaa, Argyle; Molly Salzwedel, Juda; and Blaine Wolff, Black Hawk.

Level I second team consisted of Morgan Henvalman, Albany; David Ruegsegger, Monticello; Cassie Scheider, Argyle; Crista Hae, Juda; Matt Annis, Black Hawk; Ryan Scmidt, Juda; Jordan Monson, Black Hawk; MacKenzie Sather, Pecatonica; and Alli Lent, Albany.

The meet's top performer was Brianna Knudston of Juda. Juda led the way placing 12 students in Level I and Level II All-Conference, followed by Albany and Black Hawk each placing six students.

First place and conference champions was Juda High School, second place was Albany High School and third place was Black Hawk High School.
