MONROE - A total of 203 area high school students attended the Green County Career Fair on April 24 and 26 at The Swiss Colony. This event was held to introduce high school juniors and seniors to the variety of careers in Green County before they leave the area to further their education. By educating them about the diverse career market in Green County, organizers hope to "bring them back" to live and work in Green County, and become future leaders to help the county grow. Each of the students in attendance will receive a $200 scholarship from The Swiss Colony when they provide proof of enrollment at a college or tech school. In addition, students were entered into a random drawing for three $1,000 scholarships.

This year's Career Fair was expanded to showcase opportunities at a number of local businesses besides The Swiss Colony. Businesses represented included the Bank of New Glarus and Sugar River Banks, Blackhawk Technical College, Dave Mosher & Associates, Monroe Clinic, Reffue Pas Jacobson & Koster, Precision Drive and Control, and Woodford State Bank.

The students also had the opportunity to learn about area organizations such as Future Forward Green County, Young Professionals of Green County, and the R. Kubly Family Foundation.
