Students learn through travel
albany italy trip
Legend has it, if you throw a coin over your left shoulder and make it into Trevi Fountain, you are sure to return to Italy. McKenna Overland, Megan Peters, Jacey Lyons, Zach Schaller, Trent Davis, Karlee Kesler, Kaleigh Dallman and Owen Schipper try their luck.

MONROE — In June of 2018, a group of 14 students from Albany, Monticello, and Juda traveled to Italy for an educational experience. The itinerary included: Venice, Florence, Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri. The goal of the tour was providing the students with an opportunity to interact with other cultures.

Students agreed that it was a fun experience where they met new people and understood the value of travel. Past trips have included a European capital tour of Dublin, London and Paris as well as a Marine Conservation service tour in the Dominican Republic.

The next tour is scheduled for June 2019 and will be a 10-day grand tour of Ireland and Scotland.

We will be travelling with EF Tours, the leader in providing experiential education tours, fulfilling their mission to “open up the world through education.” The package includes a full time tour guide who is an expert in the region and is with the group 24 hours a day while they are in Italy. Additional local guides lead specialized tours of attractions like the Vatican. Equally important is EF’s commitment to student safety.

EF Tours has the travel industry’s largest support system with representative in 53 countries, including Italy, and constantly monitors world conditions. They even offer an optional Global Protection Plan to cover emergency situations. EF Tours offers incomparable customer service and ensures the travel experience is positive in every aspect.
