Stateline Senior Fun Fest set for March 22

MONROE - The Stateline Senior Fun Fest will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 22 at Monroe High School, 1600 26th St.

The fun fest is free with registration beginning at 8 a.m. and will feature interactive exhibits from Stateline area businesses and organizations. There will be free blood pressure, blood sugar, bone density and memory screenings from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be free giveaways and door prizes, with the grand prize of a flat-screen television.

At 8:30 a.m., keynote speaker Kelly Epperson, an award-winning author, speaker and coach, will embrace this year's Stateline Senior Fun Fest theme of "Laughter is the Best Medicine." Epperson has written over 25 books, some for New York Times best-selling authors and one that sold 3 million copies. In 2010, she founded the Happiness Club of Loves Park, a nonprofit community service meeting that teaches how to live happier, healthier and wealthier.

Lunch will be offered for purchase starting at 11 a.m. with live entertainment by Del Hines. After lunch, door prizes will be drawn; participants must be present to win.

Gold sponsors of the event are the ADRC, Colony Brands Inc., Monroe Clinic and Monroe Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Silver sponsors are Azura Memory Care and Lena Living Center. Bronze sponsors are Aster Assisted Living, City of Monroe Behring Senior Center, St. Croix Hospice and Winn Prairie.
