MONROE - The Monroe Public Library ends its Wild Wednesday summer library programs with Wisconsin herpetologist Tom Kessenich as he presents, "Snakes Alive!" Students entering first through sixth grades are invited to the program which will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, in the library meeting room. Registration is required. Students may call the children's room of the library at 328-7010 to sign up.
According to Youth Services Librarian Kris Ault, children can expect to see live Wisconsin snakes and other reptiles from Kessenich's collection. "Plus, he always brings a surprise when he visits. One year he brought a 16-foot Burmese python and the next it was an alligator," she said. They will hear about how these unique and unusual creatures live and why they are important to the environment and to people.
