ALBANY - The ninth annual Fall Silent Auction begins Saturday and runs through noon Oct. 1 at Albertson Memorial Library, 200 N. Water St., Albany.

This year's auction baskets can be viewed at the library. They include a foursome golf outing with cart at Decatur Lake Golf Course; homemade pickles, jams and salsas; a birdfeeder; original paintings and other artwork; seasonal decor and baked goods; Sugar River tubing or canoeing necessities; a touchscreen tablet; a Homegrown Exchange CSA fall vegetable share; a local newspaper subscription; homemade wines; and many more specialty items and gift certificates local to Albany and the surrounding communities.

The auction raises funds to support the costs, fees, hardware and software associated with library technology. Bidding is available when the library is open from 1 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
