The graduate received instruction in advanced military leadership management theories and responsibilities, oral and written communications skills, and physical fitness fundamentals.
Mattert, a boom operator with 10 years of military service, is assigned to the 128th Air Refueling Wing, Milwaukee. He is the son of William P. and Jean A. Mattert of Whitewater.
His wife, Susan, is the daughter of Dennis Esslinger of Little Chute, and Linda Esslinger of Monroe.
The technical sergeant graduated in 1994 from Whitewater High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 2002 from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
