Scouts seling tulip bulbs during Cheese Days

Local Girl Scouts will be selling tulip bulbs and Girl Scout cookies at their booth during Cheese Days in Monroe next weekend. Funds raised will be used toward a trip the Scouts are planning to take to Georgia in the summer of 2016. MONROE - Monroe Girl Scouts will be selling tulip bulbs for fall planting and Girl Scout cookies as a fundraiser during Cheese Days.

The bulbs, which are shipped from Holland, will cost $1.25 per bulb and are available in several colors. One bulb is free with the purchase of a dozen.

Girl Scouts cookies will also be for sale at the booth, which will be located in the parking lot of Monroe Public Library.

The booth will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 20 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 21.

The Scouts are raising money for a trip to Georgia in the summer of 2016.

Unsold tulip bulbs will also be available during the Girl Scouts' booth at the Chili Cookoff Oct. 4 on the Square in Monroe. Scouts will also be selling water and soda pop during the cookoff.
