Schipper accepts an appointment to the USAF Academy

Owen Schipper, a 2022 Monroe High School graduate, accepted an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.

MONROE — Owen Schipper, son of Paul and Heather Schipper of Monroe, has accepted an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Schipper was nominated by Wisconsin Congressman Mark Pocan.

Schipper is a 2021 attendee of the U.S. Air Force Academy Summer Seminar Program, a 2022 Graduate of Monroe High School, and a 2023 Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School. He plans to major in Engineering and minor in German. He intends to attend pilot training upon graduation and serve in USAF Special Operations Command.

For the USAFA class of 2027, there were over 10,000 applicants. United States Air Force Academy admission is the most selective of all the service academies, with an acceptance rate of less than 12%.
