Residents can drop off yard waste Oct. 18

MONROE - The City of Monroe Street and Sanitation Department with the cooperation of Boy Scout Troops 115, 101, and 180 are pleased to announce a Yard Waste Drop Off Day. Monroe residents who pay a quarterly refuse and recycling fee may bring their bagged and/or bundled yard waste to the Street Department at 1064 5th Avenue one Saturday per month free of charge.

The next drop off day will be Saturday, Oct. 18 from 7 a.m. to noon. Curbside collection rules apply. Yard waste must be bagged weighing no more than 60 pounds and/or bundled in four-foot lengths weighing no more than 60 pounds.

Loose material will not be accepted. Residents wishing to keep their emptied bags may do so. Weekly curbside collection will still be provided for yard waste bags or bundles with stickers.
