ALBANY - Members of the Albany Police Department are looking to raise funds, as well as getting a few more people to join their team, for "The Special Olympics Polar Plunge" Saturday, Feb. 18 at Olin-Turville Park, Madison.
"We would appreciate any support you can give," Albany Police Officer Larry Harkey said. "It's tax deductible and really for an awesome cause."
The group's monetary goal is $1,500, and all donations raised during the plunge will go towards the Wisconsin Special Olympics for equipment, training and other programs.
To make a tax deductible donation for the team, visit the Wisconsin Polar Plunge website at www.specialolympicswisconsin.org/polar_plunge.asp, click on "Madison Polar Plunge" and donate to the "Albany Polar Pork."
More information is available by calling Harkey at (608) 719-7431, by e-mail to larryjharkey@yahoo.com, or visiting the Polar Plunge website.
