Parks dept. to host fall youth classes

MONROE - Monroe Parks and Recreation is currently accepting registration for Tumblin Fun, a program for children ages 4 to 8, as well as for Winter Playtime for children ages 3 to 5.

Class size is limited for both programs. To register, stop in at the Parks and Recreation Department, 1110 18th Ave., Monroe. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The fall session of Tumblin' Fun will start on Monday, Oct. 3 and run until Nov. 21. Classes will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on Mondays in the Northside Elementary School gym. Participants will be introduced to basic tumbling moves, climbing the rope, using a spring board and more. The second session runs from Jan. 9 to Feb. 20. The cost is $23 for residents and $33 for non-residents.

Winter Playtime will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Fridays, beginning Oct. 7 and running until Jan. 20. Children must be potty trained.

The class is held at the Community Center. Children will learn how to follow rules, share, listen, get along with others and make new friends while making crafts and playing games inside. The cost is $60 for residents and $70 for non-residents. Registration is now until the class fills.
