MONROE - The Monroe Optimist Club will host its annual fishing clinic for boys and girls between the ages of 5 through 13 on Saturday, May 18.
The club will meet at the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., at 9 a.m. and travel by bus to Lake Montesian in Monticello.
There will be fishing, as well as a lunch and a raffle for children. Transportation, prizes and lunch will be provided, but kids must bring their own fishing equipment and bait. The group will return to Monroe by 1 p.m.
