MONROE - The Monroe Optimist Club is taking a group of boys and girls, ages 5 to 13, on a fishing outing on Saturday.

Meet at 9 a.m. at the Monroe Public Library to travel by bus to Lake Montesian in Monticello. They will return to Monroe by 1 p.m.

Transportation, prizes and lunch will be provided, but the boys and girls must bring their own fishing equipment and bait.

Adult Optimist club members will supervise.
