NEW GLARUS — New Glarus High School is looking forward to beginning construction on the Tech Ed addition and renovations to its Ag, Art, Tech Ed and Family and Consumer Science spaces. Construction is set to begin in April and will provide students at New Glarus High School with the opportunity to learn and explore in a modern and updated environment.
The Tech Ed space will also include updated equipment, with enhanced safety features, that more closely resemble current industry standards. As part of the updates, the district has received a generous donation from Only in Wisconsin Giving for the purchase of new welding equipment. These new and renovated spaces will provide students with an up-to-date and safe learning environment that will allow them to explore their interests and discover new skills.
The Ag, Art, Family and Consumer Science spaces will also be receiving renovations. This will include updates to the classrooms and equipment, as well as modernizing the spaces to ensure that students are learning in an environment that is conducive to their success.
The renovations and equipment updates of the four departments at New Glarus High School are sure to benefit the students and staff for many years to come. The district is excited to provide students with a modern learning environment and looks forward to seeing the impact of the renovations.
In regard to the Primary School project, the district is currently pausing and re-evaluating next steps.
The bids for the Primary School came in higher than expected with costs rising significantly. Ultimately, the District hasn’t been able to stay ahead of inflation with the unexpected delays. Moving forward the District will be continuing to focus on the original goals from the outset, which included high quality educational spaces for our youngest learners, within the funding approved by our taxpayers for the project.
