‘Moving to the Heartbeat’ health fair to be Feb. 7

Monroe Clinic reports that, for now, it has enough supplies and capacity to care for patients.

MONROE — Recognizing February as heart health month, Monroe Clinic’s Cardiology team will be featured in an upcoming health fair event, “Moving to the Heartbeat” from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 in the Monroe Clinic Hospital Building, Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Center, 515 22nd Ave., Monroe.

The event includes screening and health information booths on topics from exercise techniques to vein and vascular issues related to heart health. Cardiac calcium scoring, a non-invasive screening to measure heart disease risk, will take place on a first come basis from 4 to 6 p.m. at a reduced rate.

Monroe Clinic’s three cardiologists will be presenting. Tips on managing your cholesterol and achieving your cholesterol level goal presented by Dr. Sunil Penesetti. The link between leg artery issues and heart health presented by Dr. Ali Albaghdadi. A guide to achievable heart-healthy living presented by Dr. Arif Ahmad.

Following the formal presentations, a chat will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask specific questions and get answers from the experienced, board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiology team.
