MONROE - The Wisconsin Singers will perform with big band sound, vocals and dance, performed by students of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, at 7 p.m. April 2 in the Monroe High School Auditorium.

Featuring students from the St. Victor elementary school choir, Monroe High School jazz band, Monroe Middle School choir and MHS choir, "So Classic" highlights American pop artists from the past 40 years. The Wisconsin Singers are in their 48th touring season, performing for more than 50,000 people annually.

"So Classic" is written by Robert Dietz and choreographed by Broadway professionals Kelly Kohnert Jacobs ("Mary Poppins," Radio City Rockettes) and Chad Schiro ("Bye Bye Birdie," "Urban Cowboy").

The performance includes more than 60 songs, from legends like Tony Bennett and Michael Jackson to such current pop icons as Justin Timberlake and One Direction. There will be performances from Broadway classics, including "Miss Saigon," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Music Man." Snoopy will sing "Suppertime," and Pinocchio will rejoice in "I Got No Strings."

The Singers band will perform a tribute to ABBA and a medley of jazz classics. Badger fans won't want to miss the Singers' rendition of the Fifth Quarter, where audiences sing "Varsity" and dance to "Tequila," "Jump Around" and "Teach Me How to Bucky."

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. All profits from the show will benefit the music programs in Monroe schools. Tickets are available at MHS, MMS, St. Victor School, Woodford State Bank, Monroe Chamber of Commerce, and Wisconsin Bank and Trust or by calling 608-886-6801 or online at www.wisconsinsingers.com/monroe.
